Review: USPlabs Jack3d & Side Effects

I’m no stranger to pre-workout supplements. I have tried several different ones and up until now, BSN’s NO Xplode was always my favorite. Times have changed though and I found a new favorite and that is USPlabs Jack3d. I should mention that I’m not a big fan of using supplements all the time, but I do find that I use pre-workout supplements a lot more during the winter time. This is probably due to the cloudy, cold days and also because of the fact that it gets dark so dang early! With that said, here is my USPlabs Jack3d review.

*Serving Size: 1 Scoop

*Number of Servings Per Container: 45

Directions:

Mix 1 full scoop of USPlabs Jack3d with 4 to 8 ounces of cold water and consume 30 to 45 minutes prior to working out.

When I’m mixing mine I think I use between 6 and 8 ounces of water and I get the perfect taste for me. Some people may prefer it stronger and some may prefer closer to 8 ounces. My advice is to play around with it to find the way you like it best. Also, you’re advised to drink Jack3d 30-45 minutes prior to workout. I take mine about 10-20 minutes prior because it kicks in pretty fast for me. I’m also sensitive to caffeine and things and everyone is different!

Flavor – Grape Bubblegum

Previously I had been taking NO Xplode and I had tried both the fruit punch and blue raspberry flavors and fruit punch was the better of the two in my opinion. However, the grape bubblegum flavor from USPlabs is FANTASTIC! It’s actually something I can drink an entire serving of without begging my husband to finish it for me. I can’t speak for the other flavors available because I haven’t had them and I probably won’t because I love the grape!

USPlabs Jack3d Side Effects

I think it’s important to mention (again) that I am sensitive to caffeine. Jack3d does contain caffeine but so far I haven’t been bothered by it. About 20 minutes after taking this pre-workout supplement I begin to feel more focused. I usually take a serving (1/2 – 3/4 scoop for me) and check e-mail or something until I feel ready to go. It really does help me focus. About 30 minutes after taking Jack3d I start to feel the full effect and it honestly feels like I need to be working out NOW. I just feel incredibly ready to go and fully of energy.

I have never experienced any kind of racing heart or erratic heartbeat. I have noticed that it does make my nose run but it just feels like it clears up my sinuses. Same thing happens when I drink coffee. I’ve noticed when I’m working out that I do sweat more after taking this supplement but I don’t mind that one bit.

Final Thoughts

For me, I have found that USPlabs Jack3d really helps me to focus and get energized for my workouts. Most of you know that I dislike cardio (yes, I know it’s important so I do do it) and pre-workout supplements give me the extra push I need to head down to the basement and get to work.

What’s really interesting is that according to Bodybuilding.com, Jack3d is getting an average review of 8.9 out of 10 (as of this writing) while NO Xplode is getting an 8.1. I think the NO Xplode average used to be higher but maybe others have discovered USPlabs Jack3d just as I have.

If you’re looking for a pre-workout supplement to help you get energized and you want something that tastes good, I recommend this stuff. It’s not a magic powder that will take inches off your waist and pounds off the scale, but couple it with hard work on a regular basis and that’s what you’ll see!

I have used both of these supplements and I really like NOXplode, however I felt that I wasn’t getting the same effects after awhile that I had been getting when I first started using it. Then I went to Jack3d as well and it was working great for awhile, but the same thing started to happen. So I cycled off both products for a month. Decided it was time to start using something again, so I tried NOXplode and got really sick. At first I thought it was a stomach bug so a couple days later I tried using it again same effect. So I knew at the point it was the NOXplode, so I started Jack3d again, and the same thing happened. Do you know of any other products out there that are going to give me the same amount of focus as these two products, I don’t know why after using them for almost 2 years off and on now my stomach can’t seem to tolerate the products.

    • The main ingredient in these pre-workout supplements is caffeine. You could try taking caffeine pills – they’re much cheaper. I find that I only need 1 – 200mg capsule. Superpump is another pre-workout supplement I’ve tried, but I didn’t feel that it really did anything for me. At least not compared to Jack3d or NO Xplode.

  2. I’m so glad I found this post! I’ve been debating taking NO Xplode or Jack3D for a while but worry about the creatine in it. Right now I’m using GNC AMP Amplified. I had to start with half the scoop because it made me feel super nauseous, but now I’m used to it and it seems to give me the jolt i need. Like you, I’m sensitive to caffeine. I think when my AMP is gone I’ll opt for the Jack. I agree a pre-workout is needed in the winter months!

  3. Melinda,

This is a great review of Jack3d. I took it for a while while I was in the military before they banned it. It contains 1,3-Dimethylamylamine HCl which is a mild amphetamine stimulant. I stopped taking it because I did not like the fact that Jack3d did not specifically disclose every ingredient. Anything supplement that displays a “proprietary blend” seems shady to me. What’s worse is that Jack3d does not even disclose the exact amount of caffeine or 1,3-Dimethylamylamine HCl. Now I just drink a V8 Fusion Energy drink prior to my workout and feel great! It’s natural too!!

    • Hi Brandon, I definitely agree about the “proprietary blend” junk. I think it’s odd they can get away with doing that. Shouldn’t all ingredients be disclosed? Really great point.

  4. Melinda, do you use C4 for cardio? I picked up a bottle in hopes that it’d help me want to get up and do cardio but I keep hearing that people feel that their heart rate is too insane on c4 for cardio.

    • Each person responds to supplements like C4 differently. It’s actually one of the few that I do okay with. I would just try a little at first (I never use a full serving for pre-workout supps) and see how it goes.
